EDINBORO, Pa. - The Edinboro women's swimming team had four first place finishers and three Fighting Scots placed PSAC qualifying times in a 109-94 loss to Shippensburg on Friday at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots fall to 1-3 overall, while Shippensburg improves to 7-2. The dual marks Edinboro's first home meet since its home opener on October 21 vs. Indiana(Pa.).
Yana Miletska qualified for the PSAC Championships in three events against the Raiders. She finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:32.38. Her additional qualifying marks came in the 200-yard IM (2:15.70) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:19.75), both resulting in second place finishes.
Katelyn Kopacko finished atop the 50-yard freestyle with a qualifying time of 24:42, and Sydney Dundon qualified in the 100-yard freestyle with a first place finish at 55:15.
Both Kopacko and Dundon were part of a first place 200-yard medley team, that also consisted of Nicole Kadlecik and Casey Tokarski. They finished the relay at 1:41.12.
Edinboro returns to McComb Fieldhouse on January 19, as the Fighting Scots host Gannon in their second of three consecutive home meets. The dual is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
