EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro women's swimming won nine events against Gannon on Friday en route to a 135-78 win at McComb Fieldhouse. With the win, the Fighting Scots improve to 2-3 on the season and the Lady Knights fall to 4-4.
In addition to the nine first place finishes, six Fighting Scots placed PSAC Championship qualifying times.
Yana Miletska was part of three first place finishes against Gannon, including two individual events and one relay. She finished the 200-yard IM with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:15.47 and the 100-yard breaststroke with a qualifying mark at 1:09.09. She was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay 'A' team, which featured
Kaitlyn Daiger,
Morgan Joseph and
Katelyn Kopacko. They finished the relay in first place at 1:51.69.
Nicole Kadlecik and
Casey Tokarski joined Daiger and Kopacko later in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as the 'A' team finished with a time of 1:40.27.
Kopacko and Tokarski each had a first place finish, while also qualifying for the PSAC Championships. Kopacko won the 50-yard freestyle with a PSAC qualifying time of 24.39, and Tokarski finished atop the 100-yard backstroke, qualifying at 1:02.61.
Kendall Peregrini was also responsible for two first place marks against the Lady Knights. She won the 500-yard freestyle at 5:36.04 and the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:23.09
Sydney Dundon was the last Edinboro swimmer to win an event, completing the 100-yard freestyle, qualifying at 54.95. She also qualified in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in second place with a time of 2:00.22.
Daiger and Kadlecik each recorded PSAC marks in third place finishes. Daiger finished the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.78, while Kadlecik completed the 100-yard freestyle at 56.13.
Edinboro hosts Clarion in the final home meet of the regular season on January 26. The Senior Day meet is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
