EDINBORO, Pa. – Andrew Shomers picked up a win over nationally-ranked B.J. Clagon, but the Fighting Scots fell to visiting No. 19 Rider, 21-15 on Sunday at McComb Fieldhouse. Edinboro moves to 3-3 and 1-1 in the EWL. The Broncs move to 9-2 and 3-0 in the EWL.
 
Clagon used an early takedown of Shomers to lead 2-0 going into the second period. Shomers scored a takedown midway through the period to even the match at 2-2 going into the third period. Choosing neutral to start the third period, Shomers used a late takedown at the end of the final period to secure the 4-3, despite Clagon earning a bonus point.
 
Sean Russell (125 lbs.), Korbin Myers (133 lbs.), Zach Ancewicz (184 lbs.), and Billy Miller (285 lbs.) all scored decision wins over Rider. Russell, who picked up his 20^th win on the season, earned the 5-1 decision over J.R. Wert. Myers used three, third period takedowns to record a 12-5 decision over Anthony Cefelo.
 
Ancewicz and Mike Fagg-Daves went to sudden victory with the match tied up at 1-1. Ancewicz was able to get the takedown less than 30 seconds into the extra-time period to earn the 3-1 decision. Miller used an escape less than 10 seconds in the third period and wrestled even with Mauro Correnti the rest of the way to get the decision, 3-2.
 
Edinboro returns to the mat on Friday, January 26 when they travel to Clarion. The EWL match starts at 7:00 p.m.
