Women's Soccer Ends 2018 Season with 1-0 Loss at Tenth-Ranked Bloomsburg

  • The Short Story: Edinboro and tenth-ranked Bloomsburg each attempted three shots in the first half, but the Huskies offense came alive in the second half. Just after halftime, Bloomsburg's Taylor Sneidman scored her fourth goal of the season and the only goal of the match at the 49:11 mark to give the Fighting Scots a 1-0 road loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • The Fighting Scots and No. 10 Bloomsburg each attempted three shots in the first half, but the Husky offense came alive in the second half. In the 50th minute, freshman Kate Schlotter passed the ball to senior Taylor Sneidman, who found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

GAME NOTES

  • After Edinboro and Bloomsburg each took three shots in the first half, the Huskies ended the contest with a 13-6 shot advantage.
  • Bloomsburg led 8-1 in shots on goal.
  • The Huskies attempted six corners compared to three for the Fighting Scots.
  • Freshman Anna Voelker recorded seven saves against Bloomsburg. She ends the year with the second-most saves in a single season at Edinboro with 109 saves.
  • Bloomsburg broke a tie with Edinboro with the win. The Huskies lead the all-time series 10-9-2. Prior to tonight's contest, Edinboro had won the previous two matches.
