WOOSTER, Ohio – The Edinboro women's swimming team had nine different swimmers qualify for the PSAC Championships and finished day one of the Wooster Invitational in third place. The three-day event, hosted by The College of Wooster, is being held at Wooster High School.

The invitational is comprised of 11 teams from Ohio and Pennsylvania. Case Western Reverse finished the day atop the leaderboard with 579.5 points, followed by Gannon with 359 points. Edinboro ranks third, having scored 317 points and Wooster is fourth at 241.5 points. Ohio Northern rounds out the top five with 205 points.

Edinboro vaulted up the leaderboard behind strong performances in the relays. Casey Tokarski, Kaitlyn Daiger, Nicole Kadlecik, and Katelyn Kopacko opened Friday's finals by anchoring the 200-yard Freestyle relay team to a second place finish at 1:36.71.

Yana Miletska would later join Daiger, Kopacko, and Tokarski in the 400-yard Medley Relay. The quad also captured second place with a time of 3:59.51. The top-two finishes gave Edinboro a combined 112 points.

Kopacko and Miletska also had strong individual performances. Kopacko posted an NCAA-B time in the 50-yard Freestyle, coming second place at 23.85. The sophomore is the first Fighting Scots to post an NCAA 'A' or 'B' time this season.

Miletska was Edinboro's only first place finisher on Thursday. The junior competed in the 200-yard IM and posted a PSAC-Qualifying time of 2:09.09.

Sophomore Gabby LaBovick set a new personal-best in the 50-yard Freestyle with a PSAC-Qualifying mark at 25.15. The sophomore's time is 16 seconds better than her previous mark, which was set at the 2017 Wooster Invite.

Additionally, freshmen Stephanie Gfroerer and Rachel Roscoe each posted new season high's. Gfroerer finished the 500-yard Freestyle with a PSAC-Qualifying time of 5:27.53, while Roscoe finished the 50-yard Freestyle with conference qualifying mark at 25.52.

The Fighting Scots resume action at the Wooster Invitational on Friday at Wooster High School.
