ERIE, Pa. -- The Edinboro women's tennis team gave their two seniors a win on Senior Day, 7-2 over West Virginia Wesleyan.
Roxana Yeh and
Marija Tmusic were honored before lineups for their four years of playing for the Fighting Scots. Edinboro improves to 7-8 with the win while the Bobcats fall to 8-6.
The Fighting Scots staked a 3-0 lead before the match started due to WV Wesleyan only playing with four players. The Bobcats gave up points at number three doubles and five and six singles.
Laura Lopez and
Tatiana Batalla Trabal increased the Edinboro lead with an 8-4 win at number one doubles while Yeh and
Jelena Vucenovic clinched the win with their 8-6 win at number two.
In singles, Lopez and Vucenovic picked up wins, but in different fashions. Lopez gave up only two games in her 6-1, 6-1 win at the top singles spot while Vucenovic came from behind and won in a match tiebreaker, 2-6, 6-1, 10-7.
