Allen Goes Deep But Fighting Scots Lose Twice to Seton Hill

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro softball team beat approaching showers on Saturday morning, but they were unable to better visiting Seton Hill in a PSAC West doubleheader. The Fighting Scots dropped 19-1 decision in six innings in game one, then suffered a 6-3 loss in the nightcap. Edinboro is now 4-15 overall and 0-6 in the PSAC West, while Seton Hill improved to 14-12 and 7-5, respectively.

Edinboro is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 18 with a doubleheader at Mercyhurst.

GAME 1 – Seton Hill 19, Edinboro 1

The Griffins exploded late with three runs in the fifth and 11 runs in the sixth. They took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Ashley Perillo's second home run of the season, then added four more unearned runs in the third inning to chase starter Amanda Metz (1-5) from the game. Edinboro cut the deficit to 5-1 in the bottom of the fourth.
