EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro women's swim team got 2019 off on the right start as they defeated visiting Tiffin, 82-33, inside the natatorium at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots picked up wins in five of the seven swimming event. The Fighting Scots improve to 1-2 with the win.

Tiffin scored 9 of their 33 points in diving.

Edinboro started off with a win in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:56.34. Yana Miletska started off for the Fighting Scots before Jenna Windheim and Kaitlyn Daiger got in the pool. Rachel Roscoe anchored the event.

In the 1,000-yard freestyle, Stephanie Gfroerer took home first in a time of 11:59.81. Teammate Melia Andrulonis was right behind her in second place in a time of 12:00.92. In the 200-yard freestyle, the Fighting Scots swept the top three spots with Nicole Kadlecik winning the event in 2:05.06. Gabby LaBovick (2:05.24) and Kara Miller (2:08.22) rounded out the events for Edinboro.

Casey Tokarski took first in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of :25.66 to win the event in a PSAC qualifying time while Roscoe was less than a second behind her in second place in a time of :26.17.

Kendall Peregrini, Windheim and Daiger took the top three spots at the 200-yard IM, respectively. Peregrini took the event in a time of 2:22.59. Miletska took the last event for the Fighting Scots with a time of 1:02.43 in the 100-yard butterfly.

Edinboro will return to the pool when they travel to Shippensburg on Saturday, January 12. The first event is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
