Edinboro Improves to 3-0 with 7-0 Shutout of Daemen

ERIE, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis team continued the impressive start to its 2019 season with a 7-0 shutout of Daemen at Westwood Racquet Club. The Fighting Scots remained undefeated at 3-0 on the young season, while the loss dropped Daemen to 0-4.

Edinboro swept the singles matches, with three in straight sets. In addition, Nils Plutat was up 3-0 in the first set in his number four singles match when his opponent was forced to retire, and Julius Schulte won by forfeit at number six singles.

Mateus Santos won 6-2, 6-3 at number one singles, with Tommy Hsu winning 6-2, 6-0 at number two singles. Kevin Mboko claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win at number five singles.  Mauricio Santos was forced to go three sets at number three singles, but would prevail 6-1, 1-6, 6-1.

The Fighting Scots would claim wins at number two and three doubles to pick up the point in doubles action.

Edinboro is right back in action on Saturday, hosting Davis & Elkins at Westwood at 4:00 p.m.
