EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro wheelchair basketball team split its two games on the final day of the 2019 Boro Intercollegiate Tournament. The Fighting Scots opened the day with a 63-47 loss to Missouri before rebounding in a 58-51 win over Illinois. The game with the Fighting Illini was moved up to 2:15 p.m. due to impending weather. The Fighting Scots move to 15-13 on the season after the tournament.
Edinboro returns to the court next weekend when they travel to Scarborough, Ontario, Canada for the Canadian Academy Tournament, March 2-3.
MISSOURI 63, EDINBORO 47
Missouri shot a sizzling 56.9 percent from the floor, making 29-of-51 shots, to hand the Fighting Scots their second loss in the tournament. The Tigers jumped out to a 32-23 lead at the half while shooting 53.8 percent (14-of-26) from the floor. Edinboro held a 13-11 lead following a basket from
Kevin Atherley when Mizzou took control. The Tigers scored the next 15 points to build a 26-13 lead with just over five minutes left in the half. Edinboro was unable to close the gap in the second half as Missouri shot 60.0 percent (15-of-25) over the final 20 minutes. Edinboro ended the game shooting 40.4 percent from the floor (21-of-52).
Jacob Spillers led the Fighting Scots with 14 points, and Atherley was also in double digits with 11 points, adding six rebounds.
Chayse Wolf chased a triple double with nine points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.

Seamus McNally each had a team-high 15 points to lead four Fighting Scots in double-figures as Edinboro defeated Illinois 58-51 to wrap up action at the Boro Intercollegiate Tournament. The game was originally scheduled for 4:00 p.m., but with a pair of teams leaving early due to impeding weather overnight, the game was moved up to 2:15 p.m. The Fighting Scots jumped out to an early lead and was up 40-19 at halftime. Spillers, McNally, and
Chayse Wolf all reach double-figures in the first half. The Fighting Illini made a run at the Fighting Scots, pulling within two at 53-51 with just 1:12 left to play in the game. A basket by
Kevin Atherley along with a made free throw pushed the lead back to five. With 16 seconds left. Wolf would put away the game with a pair of made free throws for the final 58-51 score. Wolf recorded his fifth double-double of the season with a 12 point and 14 rebound performance. Atherley nearly joined him with 14 points and nine rebounds.
