CHARLESTON, WV -- Laura Lopez won her top seeded singles match in straight sets, however the Edinboro women's tennis team fell to the Golden Eagles 6-1 on the road in their last non-conference match. The match moves the Fighting Scots to 0-14 on the season while Charleston improves to 12-2.
Lopez and Tatiana Batalla Trabal dropped a tight match at number one doubles before falling in a tight tiebreak, 7-6 (9-7) to Kristine Gegeshidze and Katie Swann. The Golden Eagles picked up wins at number two and three doubles to claim the doubles point.
In singles, Lopez won a tight first set against Swann, 6-4, before winning the second, 6-1 for the win. Charleston would go onto win number two through six singles to claim the 6-1 win.
The Fighting Scots return to PSAC action on Tuesday, April 2 when they host Cal U on campus at 11:30 a.m.
