HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- The Edinboro men's tennis team split the six singles matches with Catawba, but could not overcome dropping the doubles point as the Fighting Scots fell, 4-3, to the Indians. The match was part of the team's annual Spring Break trip to Hilton Head Island. 

Catawba swept through doubles to take a 1-0 lead. In singles, the Fighting Scots got wins from Mauricio Santos at number two, with a 6-3, 6-4 win over over Luca Picci while teammate Kevin Mboko earned the 5-7, 6-0, 1-0(7) win over Adam Rocko at number five singles. Julius Schulte earned the other singles win for Edinboro with a 7-5, 6-4, straight-sets win over Darius Perkins at number six.

Tommy Hsu won his first set against Ryan Reid at number three singles, 7-5, but dropped the second. In the match tiebreak, Reid won 10-8 to seal the win for the Indians. 

Edinboro returns to the court on Wednesday, March 6 when they take on West Virginia State in another Atlantic Region match up. The match is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
