EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro women's swimming team defeated Shippensburg 113-89 on Saturday morning at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots are now 3-1 while Shippensburg is 4-5.
Katelyn Kopacko took first place in the 50-yard freestyle as Edinboro won seven events plus a relay. She posted an NCAA B time of 23.97.
Meanwhile, Paige Smith and Yana Miletska each had two wins in the individual events. Smith placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:20.21, and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:33.35. Miletska posted winning times of 2:11.60 in the 200-yard IM and 1:01.89 in the 100-yard backstroke.
In addition, Nicole Kadlecik touched first in the 100-yard butterfly, recording a time of 1:01.72. Makayla Scheu placed first in the 100-yard freestyle posting a time of 54.73.
The Fighting Scots placed first in the 200-yard medley relay. The foursome of Smith, Kopacko, Kaitlyn Diager, and Scheu combined for a winning time of 1:51.93.
