EDINBORO, PA- The Edinboro Women's Volleyball team (9-1) will return to McComb Fieldhouse for a jam-packed weekend of volleyball on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 1 and Oct. 2). Friday at 6 p.m. they will match up against Indiana University of Pennsylvania (9-8), and on Saturday they will take on University of Pitt Johnstown (9-1) at 4 p.m.
Your Fighting Scots
- Edinboro has now won five games in a row and each of those wins has been a clean sweep, the Fighting Scots have not lost in their last 15 sets
- With their road win against Clarion earlier this week, Edinboro now sits atop the PSAC West standings with an overall record of (9-1) and (2-0) in conference play
- Edinboro has been impressive this season by defending their opponents attack, they currently rank second in the PSAC with their opponents averaging .087 hitting percentage
- Bella Burrelli has been a huge part of Edinboro's success, she leads the PSAC in points per set with 4.79
- Alicia Eldredge has been another huge part of the team's success, Eldredge currently is third in the PSAC with 10.42 assists per set
Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP)
- IUP is currently (9-8) overall and (0-2) in PSAC West play, in their previous game they defeated Salem University 3-0
- The defense of IUP was on lock, in the first two sets Salem was held under ten points with a hitting percentage of .064
- IUP's offense was also clicking, the Hawks had 43 kills at hit .313 while totaling 17 service aces over the three sets
- Lexi Hraga led the team with 13 points, and had a career high eight aces, which is tied for the fifth most by a Division II player this season
- Brooke Little had an efficient nine kills on just 14 attacks
University of Pitt Johnstown (UPJ)
- UPJ is currently (9-1) overall and (2-0) in PSAC West play, in their previous game they defeated Mercyhurst University 3-1
- The Mountain Cats are currently on a nine-game winning streak
- UPJ started out slow and dropped the first set, they flipped a switch and won the next three sets, in the final set they held Mercyhurst to just 13 points
- The offense for UPJ produced 49 kills on 146 attempts
- Grace Miller had a match-high 13 kills, While Lauren Getcher, Katelyn Courtney, and Lualis Alvarado all had nine kills
