EDINBORO, PA- Edinboro Women's Volleyball will look to stay undefeated as they head home for three straight games this weekend on Sept. 17 and 18. The Fighting Scots will start the weekend with Shepherd University on Friday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. The following day on Saturday at 2 p.m., they will face Davis and Elkins College. Finally, Edinboro will cap off the weekend by finishing with West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday at 5 p.m. This will be the squad's first time playing in front of the Edinboro home crowd since Nov. 2019.

OUR FIGHTING SCOTS
-The Women's volleyball team kicked off the season by going 4-0 in their opening tournament at California University of Pennsylvania on Sept. 10 and 11
-The first day of the tournament Edinboro defeated Shippensburg and Frostburg State by a final of 3-0
-The second day of the tournament the Fighting Scots defeated Bloomsburg 3-1 and finished off the tournament by taking down West Liberty 3-0
-The squad this year is made up of veteran leadership surrounded by young talent, creating the perfect formula for a successful season
-The Fighting Scots have proven in their first four games that there is strength in numbers: Edinboro averages three more assists per set in comparison with their opponents
-Edinboro's Alicia Eldredge was named to the all-tournament team for her performances. She finished off the weekend with 141 total assists and 10.85 assists per set
-On offense Bella Burrelli was another Fighting Scot who performed exceptionally well all weekend, she led the team with 46 total kills and 3.54 kills per set
-On defense Alicia Eldredge and Abby Monn lead the team in digs, combining for 85 of the teams 205Â
-Sydnee Jones is another Fighting Scot contributing to the defense leading the team with 14 blocks and 1.08 blocks per set in 4 gamesÂ
THE OPPOSITION
-First up the Fighting Scots will play the Rams of Shepherd University. The team from West Virginia currently holds a record of 6-1. With an impressive record, their only loss came to Tusculum, which was a game they lost 1-3 and each set was decided by less than four points. This will be Edinboro's third matchup ever with Shepherd University as they look to get their first win. Shepherd opens play for this weekend against Davis and Elkins College at 4 p.m. prior to the matchup later that evening
-The second game of the weekend for the Fighting Scots comes against Davis and Elkins College. This will be the fifth time ever the two schools have played. Davis and Elkins currently is 1-2 overall with their one win coming against Kutztown. Davis and Elkins open play this weekend against Shepherd University on Friday at 4 p.m. and Mercyhurst University on Saturday at 10 a.m. prior to the matchup later that afternoon
-The final game of the weekend is Edinboro's matchup with West Virginia Wesleyan College. West Virginia Wesleyan has started the season with an 0-4 record. Previous play against the Fighting Scots has seen the Edinboro Women hold a 2-1 record. West Virginia Wesleyan opens play this weekend against Mercyhurst University on Friday, at 7 p.m. and Shepherd University on Saturday at 12 p.m. prior to the match up later that afternoonÂ
