VB | RECAP | Edinboro Volleyball bounces back with two quality wins on Saturday

Edinboro, Pa. - After falling short in Friday night's match up against Shepherd University, Edinboro came in determined on Saturday. The Fighting Scots defeated Davis and Elkins College and West Virginia Wesleyan College each 3-0. With adding two more wins to their record, Edinboro now sits at 6-1 overall.

GAME ONE vs. DAVIS & ELKINS COLLEGE

In the first set of the match, Edinboro had a kill percentage of .483 which gave them the momentum early on and helped them defeat Davis and Elkins College 3-0.

Sally Sterkel and Abby Monn each had 11 kills in Saturday's first game at McComb Fieldhouse against Davis and Elkins college.

 

Bella Burrelli also contributed 10 kills of her own for the Fighting Scots.

Carly Pry got her squad going early in the first set, Pry served for eight straight points allowing for Edinboro to grab the early lead.

Alicia Eldridge was impressive on the set; she was responsible for 29 of Edinboro's 34 total assists.

Up front the action from Sydnee Jones, Monn, and Sterkel was huge, each of them had 2 blocks a piece.

Pry had 11 digs, Burrelli contributed eight and Eldridge with seven.

 

GAME TWO vs. WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE

It was the same story in game two, Edinboro was efficient on the attack early in the first set and had a kill percentage of .241 which helped them defeat West Virginia Wesleyan College 3-0.

Burrelli led the Fighting Scots with 14 kills.

Jones and Monn each had six kills each.

Eldridge again led the Fighting Scots in assists, she contributed 26 out of the teams 31. Pry also contributed two helpers.

Emelia Rowell came alive in game two leading Edinboro with 10 digs. Burrelli, Monn, and Pry all had six digs each.

 

Edinboro re-takes the home floor in McComb Fieldhouse on Tuesday Sept. 21 for a 6 p.m. clash with Notre Dame College.
