Volleyball Visits Slippery Rock

Slippery Rock, Pa. -- The Edinboro volleyball team will travel to Slippery Rock for a conference match against the Rock that will start at 7 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 11. 

Second Time Around 

Edinboro enters the week with a (15-5) overall record and (5-3) in PSAC play. Edinboro has now played every opponent in the PSAC West once. Last weekend the Scots's homestand resulted in a (1-1) performance. On Friday night Edinboro defeated Pitt-Johnstown in three sets. On Saturday Clarion bested Edinboro in three sets. The Scots still stand in fourth place out of the West as they trail behind IUP, Gannon and top seed Clarion. The match against Slippery Rock will mark Edinboro's second turn around the round-robin of the PSAC West.  

  • Edinboro's offensive attack has sustained nearly 13 kills per set and is ranked fifth in the PSAC 

  • Edinboro's impact on the net has directly led to success this season as they produced 134 blocks (1.94 per set) 

  • Edinboro is fourth in the PSAC with 17 digs per set 

  • Bella Burrelli leads the Scots with 196 kills (2.84 per set) on a (.135) clip 

  • Alicia Eldredge has a team-high 607 assists (8.80 per set) and is ranked fifth in the PSAC 

  • Sally Sterkel leads Edinboro with 66 blocks on the season (0.96 per set) 

  • Edinboro's dig leader Carly Pry ranks among the top five in the conference with 4.73 digs per set 

Slippery Rock 

The Rock enters the competition with a (3-5) conference record and (7-13) overall. Slippery Rock has dropped three out of their last four matches, with their lone win coming against Mercyhurst on Oct. 1. This will be the second and final matchup of the regular season between the Scots and the Rock. Earlier this season, Edinboro defeated Slippery Rock in a close five-set match at McComb Fieldhouse back on Sept. 16. In the match Eldredge led Edinboro with 42 assists and 21 digs. Abigail Koeller led the Rock with 15 kills and 11 digs.
