Edinboro, Pa – Four Fighting Scots finished in double figures including two seniors as the Edinboro men's basketball defeated Seton Hill 90-74, at McComb Fieldhouse on senior night. The Fighting Scots finish the season with a (9-17) overall record and (7-14) in PSAC play.
In a low scoring first half, Seton Hill jumped out to an early 22-15 lead. At the 6:39 mark Edinboro flipped the switch and went on a 14-2 run to end the half and steal the lead. The run initiated a huge momentum shift especially after a huge dunk Dominique Keyes. Keyes ran up six points during the run, as Deontae Robertson added four.
Edinboro shot 41% from the field and connected on two triples from deep as they led 35-30 at halftime.
In the second half Edinboro blew the game wide open while scoring 55 points. The Fighting Scots shot 55% from the field and caught fire from deep by adding in five three-pointers.
At the 13:01 mark, a jumper from Robertson unleashed an offensive attack that followed by Edinboro. The Fighting Scots converted on their next five shots including two three-pointers from Robertson and Alex Jay. Edinboro's 12-4 run increased their lead to 15 points.
Down the stretch Edinboro put together another string of points, this time a 17-8 run boosted their lead to 23 points. The run included another dunk from Keyes and a dunk from Cyrie Coates which got the crowd roaring in McComb Fieldhouse.
In the final few minutes of play all four seniors were subbed out for the last time and given a proper standing ovation from the home crowd.
The final highlight of the afternoon came from the connection of Keyes and Jack Gallagher. Gallagher set up Keyes on a huge alley-oop dunk that had the entire building jumping.
Senior Deontae Robertson finished with a team-high 19 points, along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Senior Jaryn Simpson followed with 17 points and six assists.
Senior Kameron King posted eight points and six rebounds.
Senior Alex Jay contributed five points, two rebounds and one block.
Saturday's game concluded the 2021-22 season for the Edinboro men's basketball team.
