Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball team closed out the regular season with a 72-60 loss to visiting Seton Hill Saturday afternoon inside McComb Fieldhouse.
 
Haley Sims led all scorers with 26 points just two points off her career high. She also grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Scots.
 
Sims gave Edinboro a 25-23 advantage with a 3-pointer at the 3:31 mark of the second. Seton Hill finished the half on a 7-1 spurt to take a 30-26 lead into the half.
 
The Griffins carried the momentum into the third with an 9-2 run to open the quarter capped by a Cheyenne Trest triple with 7:45 on the clock. The Seton Hill lead grew to 16, 47-31 with 2:33 remaining in the third.
 
Edinboro closed the third on a 7-2 run and then back-to-back 3-pointers from Sims and Monica Brown to open the fourth trimmed the lead to just five 49-44 with 9:28 remaining in the game. The Griffins scored the next seven points and the lead never shrank below eight the rest of the way.
 
In addition to Sims, Brown chipped in 10 points on Senior Day to go with three rebounds and an assist.
 
Sonia Sandra paced the Griffins with 19 points. Katie Nolan added 13 points and nine rebounds.
 
The Scots will take on IUP on Monday in the opening round of the PSAC Championship Tournament. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
