Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro wrestling team returned to McComb Fieldhouse for the first time since Dec. 21 dropping a 26-9 dual to visiting Central Michigan.
At 141,
Gabe Willochell fell behind 12-1 in the first period, but fought back and scored a reversal before pinning No. 5 Dresdon Simon getting the Fighting Scots on the board after Edinboro fell behind 7-0 after two bouts.
The Chippewas won the next five bouts all by decision to build a 22-6 advantage.
Cody Mulligan broke the streak for the Scots with a pair of takedowns on his way to a 6-1 decision at 197. Matt Stencel closed out the match with a 12-4 major over
Max Millin to set the final.
The Scots will host the Edinboro Open on Sunday. The next dual for Edinboro will be when Lock Haven visits McComb on Feb. 13.
