California, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball team dropped a 72-48 decision to host Cal U Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the PSAC Championships.
 
The Vulcans jumped out to a 5-0 lead out of the gates. Monica Brown hit a triple to cut the lead to 5-3 at the 8:34 mark of the first. Cal answered with an 11-0 run to build a 16-3 advantage. Edinboro pushed back with an 8-4 spurt to trim the lead to 20-11 after the first quarter.
 
Cal's lead swelled to 38-16 at the 5:10 mark of the second quarter. The Scots finished the second quarter on a 13-3 run to cut the halftime deficit to 41-29.
 
The third quarter started slow going scoreless through three minutes. The Vulcans scored the first six points of the half part of a 14-3 run to build a 55-29 lead. The Cal lead didn't fall below 20 the rest of the way.
 
Bella Burrelli led the Scots with 12 points and eight rebounds. Macie Jarrett also reached double figures with 11 points.
 
Dejah Terrell scored 20 points and pulled down nine boards to lead the Vulcans. Ciara Lloyd added 16 points while Halle Herrington turned in 14.
 
Edinboro finished the season with a 14-12 overall record.
