Women’s Lacrosse Win in Close Fought Battle Against Ursuline

Edinboro, Pa. – The Fighting Scots battled for a well-deserved 10-8 win against the Arrows of Ursuline College on Senior night at Sox Harrison Stadium on Thursday evening.

Senior players Kaitlyn Binotto, Savannah Fischer, and Christina Clutter were celebrated before the game for their play and dedication whilst attending Edinboro University.

The Fighting Scots were in a tug-of-war for the result with Ursuline until a strong third-quarter performance ensured the win, scoring four times to take a 9-6 lead into the last.

Lexi Boyk was in blistering form with four goals on the night, with three important goals coming in the third. Boyk took her tally to six on the season, now placing second on total points.

Maggie Anderson began the scoring in the first quarter for Edinboro and ended it with the tenth, netting three goals in total. Anderson also now has six goals this season taking her to the top of the points chart for Edinboro with 29 points.

Sophia Bernardoni was heavily involved throughout with both attacking and defensive plays. Bernardoni added two goals on the night alongside two draw controls, two groundballs, and three caused turnovers.

Morgan Milletary scored her first of the season in the second quarter, adding to her one assist earlier in the season.

Natalia Corrales contributed with her tenacious defensive work, winning four draw controls, causing three turnovers, and collecting two groundballs.

Kaitlyn Binotto took the win in the cage for Edinboro to take her record to 2-12 overall with four saves on the night.

Edinboro now turns its attention to Indiana University of Pa. on Saturday morning with the game scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
