Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's soccer team peppered the goal with shots but played to a 1-1 tie with Pitt-Johnstown Saturday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium.
The Fighting Scots got on the board first when
Jillian Ball chipped a long shot from 30 yards out into the upper right-hand corner in the 20
th minute.
UPJ answered early in the second half when Haley Neidig headed home a Jessica Susz free kick to knot the score in the 54
th minute.
Edinboro outshot the Mountain Cats 19-5 overall and 11-2 in shots on goal. The Scots also generated 10 corners to UPJ's three.
Megan Malits recorded three shots all on goal.
Emily Vogel put a pair of her four shots on frame while
Reece Enochs recorded three shots, two on goal.
Kaylee Lauriel made one save in 90 minutes of action in net. Megan Giesey made 10 saves for the Mountain Cats.
The Scots are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Clarion for a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Golden Eagles.
