Volleyball Set for Pair of PSAC West Contests

Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's volleyball team is set to host a pair of key PSAC West matchups with games on Friday and Saturday inside McComb Fieldhouse.

The Games
On Friday, the Scots are host Slippery Rock at 6 p.m. Edinboro then hosts California (PA) at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Last Time Out
The Scots dropped a 3-1 decision to host Pitt-Johnstown Saturday afternoon in PSAC West action. Natalie Pallone led the Scots with 13 kills. Makayla Neelands added 10 kills and Erika Lindqvist tallied nine. Abigale Soboleski notched 23 assists and Laney Burns dished out 15 to go with four service aces.
 
Carly Pry recorded 30 digs while Lindqvist paced the defense with six blocks.
 
Offensive Leaders
Pallone leads the offense with 210 kills for an average of 2.84 per set while hitting .252. Bella Burrelli has tallied 173 kills while Neelands adds 146 kills. Jessica Hardin and Erika Lindqvist have also crossed the century mark with 105 and 103 respectively.
 
Soboleski leads the team with 409 set assists. Burns adds 346 assists.
 
Defensive Leaders
Carly Pry leads the team with 341 digs. Burrelli adds 247 digs. Lindqvist is the team leader in blocks with 63. Pallone has tallied 60 blocks while Kasey Smith has notched 55 stuffs.
 
Honor Roll
Lindqvist helped the Scots to a 1-1 record overall in two PSAC West matches. Against Seton Hill, Lindqvist recorded eight blocks while also recording eight kills. She added six more blocks and nine kills in the Scots game against UPJ on Saturday.
 
Scouting The Rock
Slippery Rock is 11-23 overall and 3-7 in PSAC West play after dropping a 3-0 decision to Gannon on last Friday. Callie Chevalier led the Rock with seven kills while Erica Selfridge added six. Jaeden Yost triggered the offense with 13 assists. Kate Lachendro led the Slippery Rock defense with 13 digs while Mary Berger added three blocks.
 
Selfridge leads the offense with 235 kills on the season. Chevalier checks in second with 209. Yost is the team leader in assists with 435. Lachendro leads the defensive effort with 370 digs. Lauren VonderHarr is the leading blocker with 88 blocks.
 
Scouting the Vulcans
Cal enters the weekend 7-10 overall and 2-8 in the PSAC West. The Vulcans will take on Gannon on Friday at 7 p.m. Cal topped Mercyhurst 3-0 on Saturday. Allie Droneberger led the Vulcans with 15 kills. Rachel Simon tallied 38 assists. Elisa Rugiero and Emily Buwawa each recorded 12 digs.
 
Rugiero leads the team with 197 kills while Droneberger adds 172. Simon has a team-leading 457 assists. Buwawa has 256 digs and Alayja Floyd leads the team with 74 blocks.
