Greensburg, Pa. – The Edinboro women's soccer team saw their comeback bid come up short in a 3-2 loss at Seton Hill Wednesday afternoon in PSAC West action.
The teams played to a 1-1 tie at the break. Seton Hill took a 2-1 lead on a Kilee Coatney goal in the 71
st minute and extended the lead to 3-1 on a Jessica Molitoris tally in the 75
th minute.
Megan Malits scored on a long shot through that found its way to the back of the net in the 81
st minute to trim the lead to 3-2, but the Scots couldn't find the equalizer in the final 10 minutes.
Coatney opened the scoring in the first scoring in the 24
th minute.
Reece Enochs tied the game just over five minutes later when she finished a
Gabby Ellsworth corner kick in the 29
th minute.
The Griffins out shot the Scots 13-11 overall but both teams put six shots on frame.
Emily Vogel notched a team-high three shots, two on goal for the Scots. Malits added another shot on goal to her goal scored.
Kaylee Lauriel made three saves and took the loss in the net.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they host California (PA) at 1 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
