Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro volleyball team is slated to host two PSAC West matches as well as the continuation of the UPJ match that was suspended due to medical emergency.
The Matches
The Scots play host to Clarion on Friday at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Edinboro takes on IUP at noon. Then the Scots will finish the match with UPJ at 4 p.m. The match will resume with the Scots trailing in the match 2-0, but ahead in the third set 14-9.
Last Time Out
Edinboro is coming off a 3-2 victory over Slippery Rock on Saturday.
Natalie Pallone led all players with 18 kills.
Bella Burrelli tallied 14 kills while Hardin added 12.
Abigale Soboleski notched 27 assists while
Laney Burns dished out 19 helpers.
Erika Lindqvist and
Emelia Rowell each added two service aces.
Defensively,
Carly Pry notched a game-high 20 digs while Burrelli added 18. Lindqvist had three blocks and Hardin two.
Offensive Output
Pallone is the offensive leader with 119 kills while hitting .313. Burrelli is right behind her with 114 kills
Makayla Neelands is the third Scot to hit three figures in kills with 100. Neelands is the Scots leader in points per set wtih 3.01. Soboleski leads the team with 253 assists while Burns has dished out 212.
Defensive Leaders
Pry has a team-high 195 digs. Three other Fighting Scots have tallied at least 100 digs. Burrelli adds 162, Soboleski 182 and Burns 100. Pallone leads the Scots with 41 total blocks.
Kasey Smith checks in with 38 blocks while Lindqvist tallies 36.
Scouting the Golden Eagles
Clarion is 14-2 overall and 4-0 in PSAC West play after a 3-2 victory over IUP last Friday. Cassidy Snider leads the Golden Eagles with 284 kills. Julia Piccolino adds 136 kills. London Fuller has dished out 670 assists. Abigale Selfridge is the Clarion leader in digs with 228. Finley Kearney posts a team-high 44 blocks.
Scouting the Crimson Hawks
The Crimson Hawks are 13-5 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC West and are coming off a 3-1 non-conference victory over Wheeling University. Nyla Birch has a team-best 206 kills. Kat Warpinski triggers the offense with 448 assists. Lauren Valentic has a conference best 97 blocks. Bailey Flowerdew is the team leader in digs with 273.
