Volleyball Hits the Road for a Pair of PSAC West Contests

Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro women's volleyball team is back in action on Friday and Saturday with a pair of key PSAC West matchups at IUP and Clarion.

The Games
The Scots make the trip to IUP on Friday night for a 6 p.m. showdown with the Crimson Hawks. On Saturday, Edinboro will go to Clarion for a 1 p.m. matchup with the Golden Eagles.

Last Time Out
Edinboro are coming off a 3-0 victory over California (PA) last Saturday. Natalie Pallone and Kathryn Raschilla each tallied nine kills. Erika Lindqvist added eight kills and two service aces. Laney Burns led the Scots with 18 assists while Abigale Soboleski tallied 17. Defensively, Carly Pry tallied 11 digs while Emelia Rowell and Soboleski each picked up 10. Kasey Smith led the Scots with four blocks.

Offensive Leaders
Pallone leads the offense with 235 kills and is hitting .260. Bella Burrelli has 182 kills and Makayla Neelands adds 166. Soboleski leads the Scots with 454 assists while Burns tallies 388. 

Defensive Efforts
Pry has a team-high 379 digs. Burrelli checks in with 264. Lindqvist leads the Scots with 71 blocks followed by 65 from Pallone an 62 from Smith.

Scouting the Crimson Hawks
 IUP is 19-7 overall and 9-3 in PSAC West play after topping UPJ 3-0 last Saturday. Nyla Birch leads the team with 280 kills. Stefania Anagnostou adds 187 and Grace Mangapora adds 163. Kat Warpinski has triggered the offense with 598 assists. Lauren Valentic and Caroline Walsh have both crossed the centry mark in blocks. Valentic has 139 blocks and Walsh checks in at 105. Bailey Flowerdew leads IUP with 384 digs.

Scouting the Golden Eagles
Clarion is 19-5 overall and 9-3 in PSAC West play after  dropping a 3-0 decision to UPJ last Friday. London Fuller has triggered the Clarion offense with 978 assists an average of 11.1 per set. Cassidy Snider leads the Golden Eagles with 420 kills. Julia Piccolino ranks second with 198 kills. Finley Kearney leads the team with 68 blocks and Abigail Selfridge is the team leader in digs with 359.
