Men’s Tennis Sweeps Daemen, 7-0

Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro men concluded the weekend with a win on Sunday against Daemen College, as they earned their third sweep of the season. The Scots finished with a commanding 7-0 win where they didn't let up a point in doubles and singles. With the win the Edinboro men improve to (5-1) overall. 

Doubles 
In doubles the Scots made a clean sweep of three-straight to take first point of the match. Bruno Sabio and Rocco Palombarini held on in a tight dual that went to a tiebreaker. 

Manav Sreekumar and Thibault Dorval earned their fourth doubles win with their 6-2 victory over Zachary LaPlante and Phillip Vance. 

Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi also prevailed in a 6-2 final. Sacchi and Acuna improved to (5-1) in doubles. 

Singles 
In singles Edinboro finished with six straight wins. Sreekumar stayed perfect with his 6-3, 6-2 win as he moves to (5-0) in singles this season. 

Acuna won his second straight singles match with a strong 6-1, 6-2 final over Luis de Vuyst. 

Sabio defeated Phillip Vance 6-1, 6-3 to improve to (4-2) in singles, along with two straight wins. 

Gustavo Martins jumped back over to the winning column with a smooth 6-2, 6-4 win over Zachary LaPlante. 

Unger is now tied for the most wins in singles on the team after a 6-2, 6-4 win over Adam Pasierb. 

Masayuki Matsuno had an impressive season preview with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 win as he helped Edinboro complete their second sweep of the weekend. 

Up Next 
Edinboro will begin their road trip that consists of five matches in seven days. The road trip begins on March 3rd when Edinboro goes head-to-head with Davis & Elkins College in Buckhannon, WV.
