Charlotte, NC -- The Edinboro men kicked off their spring break trip in winning fashion with a huge 4-3 victory over Division I opponent Queens University of Charlotte. With the win, Edinboro improves to (6-1) overall.
The Scots jumped out to a quick lead early in the match by earning the doubles point. Thibault Dorval and Manav Sreekumar won their third straight match in doubles with a 6-4 win.
Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi grabbed their sixth win in doubles with their prevailing 6-4 victory over Arthur Bazil and Lukas Qum. Edinboro's two wins in doubles were enough to head into singles with a 1-0 lead over the Royals.
In singles the Edinboro men continued to stay hot by going toe-to-toe with their division one opponent. The Scots split singles with both teams earning three match wins each.
Acuna defeated Win Steverker in a close 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 match that went into an extra set. Acuna earned his sixth singles win and kept Edinboro's momentum going.
Dorval followed with his fifth win of the season as he defeated Samuele Pia 6-1, 7-6.
In the sixth match it was Finn Unger who came up clutch with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Lukas Gosselin. Unger won his fourth straight match in singles with the win.
Edinboro will continue their spring break trip when they match up against Belmont Abbey College on Monday, with the match beginning at noon.
