Men’s Tennis Sweeps Kutztown in PSAC Opener

Erie, Pa. -- The Edinboro men kicked off conference play with a win on Saturday against Kutztown, as they earned their fourth sweep of the season. The Scots finished with a commanding 7-0 win where they didn't let up a point in doubles and singles. With the win the Edinboro men improve to (8-3) overall and (1-0) in PSAC play. 

Doubles 
In doubles the Scots made a clean sweep of three-straight to take first point of the match. Bruno Sabio and Rocco Palombarini held on and earned their seventh win of the season. 

Manav Sreekumar and Thibault Dorval was the closest doubles match as the duo earned their sixth win of the season with a 6-4 final. 

Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi also prevailed in a 6-1 final. Sacchi and Acuna improve to (8-3) in doubles. 

Singles 
In singles Edinboro finished with six straight wins. Acuna won his seventh straight singles match with a strong 6-1, 6-1 final over Joaquin Perez. 

Sabio defeated Gonzalo Barcelo by retirement in the first set as he earned his sixth win of the season. 

Sreekumar jumped back into the winning column with his 6-3, 6-3 win over Neal Devkaran and is now (6-4) in singles. 

Gustavo Martins won his second straight with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Emmitt Robinson as Martins improves to (7-3) in singles. 

Dorval also improves to (7-3) in singles after his 6-3, 6-1 victory over Sebastian Arizpe. 

Finn Unger battled in the closest singles match of the afternoon as he prevailed with a 7-6, 6-1 tiebreaker win over Justin Gincauskas. Unger improves to (7-4) in singles this season.

Edinboro will be right back in action on Sunday when they host Bloomsburg at the Westwood Racquet Club at 4 p.m.
