Erie, Pa. -- The Edinboro men's tennis team capped off their weekend at home with a vigorous 5-2 victory over nationally ranked Fairmont State University. With the win, the Edinboro men improve to (9-0) at home and (11-3) overall.
Doubles
The Scots jumped out with an early advantage after earning the doubles point. Bruno Sabio and Rocco Palombarini edged Kan Watanabe and Alexandre Pages 6-4 as they earned their tenth win of the season.
Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi also earned their tenth doubles win of the season with their 6-3 win over Austin Noel and Mohamed El Helaly.
Thibault Dorval and Manav Sreekumar fell short to Elia Barozzi and Seena Saadevandi in close battle, 7-5.
Singles
In singles the men came away with four out of six wins, helping them clinch the victory. Sabio got things going with his 6-4, 6-4 win over Barozzi as he earned his fourth consecutive win.
Acuna bested Watanabe 7-6, 6-3 as he won his tenth straight singles match and is now (13-1) overall.
Sreekumar prevailed over Saadevandi 7-6, 6-2 after a close first set led to a tiebreaker. Sreekumar has found his footing as of late with four-straight wins in singles.
Edinboro's fourth singles win came from Finn Unger. Unger defeated Jacob Boone 7-5, 6-3 as he improved to (9-4) in singles.
