Edinboro, Pa. -- In their first match outdoors the Edinboro women fell 0-4 to PSAC West opponent IUP. With the loss, the Fighting Scots drop to (3-9) overall and (1-1) in conference action.
Doubles
In the race to two wins in doubles, it was the visiting Crimson Hawks who prevailed after earning the first two matches.
Rafaella Negrao De Almeida and Marina Zottele fell 0-6 to Karolin Kirchtag and Katy Graydon. Edinboro's duo falls to (0-3) on the season.
Maria Clara Salomao and Cecillia Carayol earned one point as they fell to Natalie Kmoskova and Joanna Stralka 1-6. Edinboro's duo falls to (1-2) on the season.
Singles
In the race to four, IUP held the 1-0 advantage after doubles. The Crimson Hawks continued their momentum into singles as they earned three consecutive wins.
Carayol took Kmoskova to an extra set but came up short in a 3-6, 6-4, 1-6 loss.
Negrao De Almeida fell to Kirchtag 0-6, 2-6.
In the final singles match Zottele was defeated by Stralka 0-6, 1-6.
