Bloomsburg, Pa. -- The Edinboro men went for the three-peat as they defeated Mercyhurst 4-0 in the 2023 PSAC Men's Tennis Championship. Edinboro's Ruben Acuna was named tournament MVP.
Doubles
In doubles the Scots jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the race to two wins. The Edinboro men picked up two convincing wins as they headed into singles with strong momentum.
Bruno Sabio and Rocco Palombarini defeated Plasheski and Shultz 6-2 as they improved to (13-6) in doubles.
Acuna and Kaio Sacchi capped off the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Briones and Cabue as they earned their ninth straight win.
Singles
In singles Edinboro finished with three straight wins to clinch the victory 4-0.
Manav Sreekumar was dominant in his 6-2, 6-3 win over Plasheski as he won his fifth straight match and pushed the Scots lead to 2-0.
Thibault Dorval defeated Schultz 6-4, 6-0 as he won his fourth consecutive singles match as Edinboro led 3-0.
Acuna clinched the match victory for Edinboro as he prevailed over Periera 6-4, 6-1 as he earned his sixteenth straight singles win.
