Meadville, Pa. – The Edinboro women's tennis team scored a 9-0 sweep of host Allegheny Monday night in dual action.
Johanna Priedite and
Cecilia Carayol started off the match with an 8-0 sweep at number one doubles.
Rafaella Negrao De Almeida and
Luciana Ponce scored an 8-4 win over Emilia Grydnieva and Rei Etsumi 8-4 and
Marina Zottele and
Maria Clara Salomao were 8-5 winners at number three over Omega Ba and Kayla Hay.
Priedite was a 6-3, 6-3 victor at top flight singles over Grydnieva. Ponce backed that up with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Sabrina Rodriguez.
Carayol defeated Etsumi 6-2, 6-0 at number three singles. Almeida was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at number four over Noelle Kidd.
Lara Sener scored the 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Athena Drollas and Zottele closed out the victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Abbie Bender at number six.
The Scots return to action on Thursday with a trip the ITA Regionals in Bloomsburg.
