Volleyball Hits the Road for a Pair of PSAC West Contests

Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's volleyball team will play two road games in the PSAC West Friday and Saturday.
 
The Games
Edinboro will make the trip to California on Friday at 6 p.m. before playing at Slippery Rock at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Last Time Out
The Scots tallied a 3-0 victory over Ursuline on Tuesday in non-conference action. Makayla Neelands paced Edinboro with 14 kills while Natalie Pallone tallied 13. Laney Burns led the setters with 21 assists and Abigale Soboleski added 20 more helpers.
 
Carly Pry finished with a game-high 19 digs and Bella Burrelli added 17.
 
Milestone Season
Burrelli added another milestone to her ever-growing list. She became the 17th Fighting Scot all-time to reach 1,000 digs. Earlier this season she tallied her 1,000th career kill. Burrelli is one of six Edinboro players to achieve both of those marks. Pry also reached 1,000 career digs against Seton Hill last week.
 
Offensive Output
Burrelli leads the Edinboro offense with 93 kills. Pallone is right behind her with 91 kills while also hitting .355. Neelands adds 83 kills. Soboleski has a team-high 205 assists and Burns chips in 177 helpers.
 
Defensive Efforts
Pry has notched 156 kills on the season and Burrelli adds 130. Kasey Smith has a team-leading 38 blocks. Pallone adds 37 and Erika Linqvist has 32 stuffs.
 
Scouting the Vulcans
The Vulcans are 5-4 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC West after dropping a 3-2 decision to Mercyhurst last Saturday. Elisa Rugiero leads the team with 113 kills followed by Allie Droneberger with 95. Rachel Simon is the primary setter with 260 assists. Two Vulcans Emily Buwawa and Rugiero have over 100 digs with 132 and 109 respectively. Alayja Floyd is the leading blocker at 32.
 
Scouting the Rock
Slippery Rock is 8-6 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC West after falling 3-0 to Clarion last Friday. Erica Selfridge leads the offense with 139 kills and Callie Chevalier has notched 122. Jaeden Yost and Peytan Gullickson have split the setting duties with Yost tallying 267 assists and Gullickson 146. Four Rock players have over 100 digs led by Kate Lachendro with 222.
