Greensburg, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team fell 3-0 to host Seton Hill on Saturday inside the McKenna Center.
In the opening set,
Jessica Hardin cut the Seton Hill lead to 10-7 with a kill. The Griffins went on a 10-2 run to build a 20-9 advantage and took the first set 25-14.
The Scots got up 7-4 in the second set after back-to-back kills from
Reilly Parent and
Kasey Smith. Seton Hill scored the next five points to take a 9-7 lead, but Edinboro answered with a 6-1 spurt to take the lead back 13-10. The Griffins retook the lead 20-19 on a service ace from Abby Oesterling. Edinboro tallied three straight to grab a 22-20 lead. Seton Hill answered with a 4-1 spurt to take a 24-23 advantage.
Faith Schneider tied the match with a kill, but back-to-back kills from Paige Cole lifted Seton Hill to a 26-24 set win.
In the third, Edinboro again got out to a lead with a 5-1 advantage after kills from Hardin,
Makayla Neelands and
Erika Lindqvist. The Griffins answered with eight straight points part of a 12-2 run to push the lead to 13-7. The Scots would get as close as 15-11, but Seton Hill closed out the match with a 25-15 win in the third set.
Smith paced the Edinboro offense with nine kills. Neelands added seven as did Parent.
Abigale Soboleski dished out 20 assists and nine digs. Neelands led the Scots with 11 digs and Lindqvist led the block with four.
