Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting IUP Saturday night in PSAC West action inside Sox Harrison Stadium.
Hannah Scardina opened the scoring 2:21 into the contest and extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 20
th minute. The Crimson Hawks took that 2-0 lead into the half.
The Scots pushed back in the second and finally broke through when
Kylee Cross converted a penalty kick in the 76
th minute to trim the lead to 2-1.
Edinboro had several chances to tie the game including another shot by Cross that came off the crossbar on a failed clearance attempt from a Scot corner kick.
The Crimson Hawks added an insurance tally from Emily Mannion in the final minute of play setting the final.
Cross added three shots to her penalty kick goal.
Ashlynn Etheridge tallied a pair of shots for Edinboro.
Kaylee Lauriel made six saves and took the loss in net.
The Scots return to action on Wednesday with a trip to Slippery Rock. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
