Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Hillsdale Saturday at the Westwood Racquet Club.
The Chargers won all three doubles matches with Melanie Zampardo and Megan Hackman topping
Johanna Priedite and
Cecilia Carayol 7-5. Courtney Rittel and Ane Dannhauser defeated Rafaella Negroa De Almeida and
Luciana Ponce 6-4 while Libby McGivern and Helana Formentin were 6-2 winners over
Marina Zottele and
Maria Clara Salomao.
Johanna Priedite got the Scots on the board at No. 1 singles scoring a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Dannhauser. Zampardo picked up a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Ponce at No. 2 singles.
McGivern scored a 6-3, 6-2 win over
Cecilia Carayol. Almeida took the first set from Fromentin but fell 6-3, 6-2 in the second and third.
Lara Sener took the opening set from Julia Wagner 6-3, but Wagner took the next two by matching 6-0 scores. Hackman scored a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Zottele.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they host Frostburg State at 2 p.m.
