Box Score (New/Sortable Format) Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro women's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 decision to visiting Frostburg State on Saturday.
The Scots picked up the doubles point taking two of three matches. Johanna Predite and
Cecilia Carayol scored a 6-1 win at top singles over Julia Ramos and Lorena Pintar. The Tiger duo of Alyssa Kush and Lauren Ceballos topped
Luciana Ponce and Rafaella Nerao De Almeida 6-2. Marina Zottelle and
Maria Clara Salomao secured the point for the Scots with a 7-6 victory over Patricia Castejon and Mariaspa Katsiou.
Predite knocked off Ramos at top singles 6-4, 6-1 and Carayol scored a victory over Pintar 6-3, 6-2 in number three singles.
Frostburg got on the board at No. 2 when Kush scored a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 win over Ponce. Kotsiou defeated Almeida 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4.
The Tigers picked wins at No. 5 and No. 6 with Ceballos winning 7-6, 6-1 over
Lara Sener and Casteion topping Zottelle 7-6, 6-2.
The Scots are back in action on March 3 when they travel to Davis & Elkins in the first match of their annual Spring Break trip.
