Erie, Pa. -- The Edinboro women's tennis team notched a 6-1 victory over visiting Lock Haven Friday afternoon at Westwood Racquet Club.
Despite being shorthanded, the Scots picked up the doubles point. Edinboro defaulted at number three doubles, but Cecelia Carayol and Sophia Benito were 6-0 winners over Megan Ferris and Alaina Marchoni at top flight singles.
Neza Rogl and
Olivia Brown secured the doubles point with a 6-1 win over Maci Rorbach and Breanna Chicas at nubmer two.
The Scots swept the contested singles matches with Carayol going 6-0, 6-0 at number one over Ferris. Lucianna Ponce was also a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Rohrbach.Â
At number three, Benito was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Marchoni. Rogl was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at number four over Chicas. Brown closed out the match 6-0, 6-0 over Alyse Bass to secure the 6-1 win.
The Scots return to action on Tuesday with a trip to Slippery Rock.
