Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro softball team dropped both halves of a PSAC West doubleheader to visiting Seton Hill on Saturday.
 
The Scots dropped the opener 14-5 in six innings and then fell 8-2 in the nightcap.
 
How it Happened Game One
Seton Hill scored one in the top of the first, but Edinboro answered in the bottom of the frame. Adeline Maguire led off with a double and scored on a Stephanie Krick single through the middle. Maura Pasquale hit a towering home run to put the Scots up 3-1.
 
The Griffins scored four runs in the second and four more in the fourth to take a 9-3 lead. Maguire singled and a misplay by the right fielder allowed Kayla Terwilliger to score from first cutting the lead to 9-4.
 
Seton Hill scored twice more in the fifth and then tallied three runs in the sixth to push the lead to 14-4. Maguire singled home pinch runner Katie Ziegler to set the final.
 
Stat Leaders
Maguire finished the game 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Pasquale drove in a pair of runs and scored another. Macy Sral took the loss in the circle allowing seven runs, five earned, on seven hits while striking out three.
 
How it Happened Game Two
The Griffins took advantage of three Edinboro errors in the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. Seton Hill added a run in the third, before Pasquale put the Scots on the board with a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 4-1.
 
Seton Hill scored four runs in the fifth again aided by three Edinboro errors to make it 8-1. Maguire picked up an RBI ground out in the seventh setting the final.
 
Stat Leaders
Pasquale was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Terwilliger finished the game 1-for-3 with a run scored. Lauren Bush took the loss in the circle allowing eight runs, three earned, on 10 hits while striking out five.

The Scots are back in action on Sunday when they host Clarion. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at the Edinboro softball field.
