Edinboro, Pa. – In their first meet of 2025, the Edinboro women's swim team scored a 117-88 victory over visiting Shippensburg Friday afternoon in PSAC dual meet action.
The Scots started the out strong with the quartet of
Katelyn Reott,
Alexis Schrecongost,
Lillian Dilts and
Izzy Hanek winning the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:49.65. With a time of 1:57.71,
Kirsten Johnson,
Emma Beggs,
Abigail Greene and
Avery Zuk were third.
In the 1,000 freestyle, Cara Della Toffalo swam an 11:20.69 to take second place.
Baila Bugara was third with a time of 11:31.13. Della Toffalo added a first-place finish in the 500-freestyle posting a time of 5:23.81.
Schrecongost touched the wall first in the 200-freestyle posting a time of 2:01.51. Zuk was third in the race with a time of 2:04.25. Schrecongost also turned in a time of 1:01.08 in the 100 butterfly to place second. Greene was third in that race touching the wall in 1:04.71.
In the 50 free, Reott placed second in a time of 24.48 while Greene's 26.03 put her in third. Edinboro took the top two spots in the 200 individual medley with Beggs placing first with a time of 2:18.42 and Bugara earning second with a time of 2:21.98. Beggs also grabbed a first-place swim in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.85.
Dilts and Zuk went one-two in the 100-freestyle. Dilts touched the wall in 54.76 while Zuk turned in a time of 56.67. Hanek picked up a first-place finish in the 100-backstroke with a time of 1:01.21.
The Scots closed out the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay. Hanek, Dilts, Della Toffalo and Reott posted a time of 1:40.97.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they swim against Allegheny inside McComb Fieldhouse. The meet is slated for 1 p.m.
