Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team hosts a three matches this week inside McComb Fieldhouse.
The Games
On Tuesday, the Scots step out of PSAC West play to take on Lake Erie College at 6 p.m. Edinboro returns to PSAC West action on Friday hosting Seton Hill at 6 p.m. and then taking on California (PA) at 5 p.m. on Saturday. All matches will be
broadcast on the PSAC Digital Network and
live stats will be available.
Last Time Out
The Scots improved to 7-8 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC West after defeating Clarion 3-1 on Saturday.
Reilly Parent tallied a match-high 17 kills to go with three service aces and 10 digs.
Laney Burns triggered the offense with 21 assists.
Faith Schneider notched 10 kills and five total blocks.
Defensive Player of the Week
Middle blocker
Maggie Koster earned PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday. Koster led the Edinboro block as they earned a pair of PSAC West road victories over Slippery Rock and Clarion.
Against Slippery Rock, Koster tallied eight blocks including a pair of solos to go with six kills. In the win over Clarion, she notched two blocks with one solo as well as three kills.
Statistical Leaders
Parent leads the Edinboro hitters with 200 kills.
Makayla Neelands ranks second on the team with 189. Burns and Petro split the setting duties with Burns notching 285 assists and Petro chipping in 255. Neelands has a team-high 172 digs. Koster adds 49.0 blocks to the defensive effort.
Lake Erie
The Storm are 6-10 overall and are coming off a 3-1 loss to Malone. Allison Kirch leads the offense with 124 kills. Jenna Salyles and Kylie Anderson split the setting duties with 265 and 231 assists respectively. On the defensive side, Kennady Wiley leads the way with 40.0 total blocks. Cecelia Mullen has a team-high 192 digs.
Seton Hill
The Griffins will enter Friday's match 9-7 overall and 1-3 in PSAC West play after dropping a 3-1 decision to Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday. Mallory Meinen leads the team with 247 assists while Ella Deeter adds 225 helpers. Catie Flohr paces the hitters with 168 kills. Kendyl Wagner has posted 221 digs and Flohr's 53 blocks paces the defense.
California (PA)
The Vulcans are currently 14-4 overall and 2-2 in PSAC West play after dropping a 3-1 decision to IUP on Saturday. Cal will host Ursuline on Tuesday and travel to Gannon on Friday before visiting McComb on Saturday. Olivia Weiseman leads the Vulcan offense with 220 kills. Adrianna Favata leads the way with 358 assists. Defensively, Caroline Mercer has posted 269 digs and Lindsey Scammell has 81 total blocks with 22 solos.
