Volleyball Hits the Road for Pair of PSAC West Matchups

California, Pa. – The Edinboro women's volleyball team returns to action on Friday and Saturday when they travel to California (Pa.) and Seton Hill.
 
The Games
On Friday, the Scots take on Cal at 6 p.m. The match will broadcast on the PSAC Digital Network and fans can follow the game on live stats. Edinboro continues PSAC West play on Saturday with  a 1 p.m. matchup with Seton Hill. The match will be broadcast on the PSAC Digital Network and live stats will be available.
 
Last Time Out
The Scots are now 9-12 overall and 4-6 in PSAC West play after dropping a 3-0 decision to UPJ last Saturday. Makayla Neelands paced the Edinboro offense with 10 kills to go with 11 digs. Rielly Parent chipped in nine kills and six digs. Grace Petro and Laney Burns each tallied 14 assists and five digs.
 
Statistical Leaders
Parent leads the offense with 292 kills and Neelands adds 231. Burns and Petro trigger the offense with 392 and 384 assists respectively. Burns also leads the team with 36 service aces. Neelands 220 digs leads the team and Maggie Koster is the team's leading blocker with 59.
 
Scouting Cal
The Vulcans are 17-9 overall and 4-6 in PSAC West play after a 3-2 victory over Clarion on Saturday. Cal is led offensively by Olivia Wieseman with 304 kills. Adrianna Favata and Morgan Johnson have 511 and 447 set assists respectively. On the defensive side, Caroline Merer leads the team with 412 digs while Lindsey Scammell has a team-high 110 blocks.
 
Scouting Seton Hill
The Griffins are 13-9 overall and 5-5 in PSAC West play after defeating Slippery Rock 3-0 on Saturday. Seton Hill takes on Gannon on Friday at 7 p.m. Catie Flohr leads the offense with 242 kills. Mallory Meinen triggers the offense with 311 assists. Kendyl Wagner posted a team-high 325 digs while the block is paced by Flohr with 73 total blocks.
 
PSAC Postseason
With four games left in the PSAC West season, the Scots are one game back of the final playoff spot tied with Clarion and Cal at 4-6. Pitt-Johnstown and Seton Hill are tied for third at 5-5.
