Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team fell 16-2 to visiting Gannon Wednesday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium.
Gannon got on the board first on a goal by Rayla Smith. Avery Kirisits scored three times in the first quarter to push the Golden Knight advantage to 4-0.
In the second quarter, Charlie Hunter led the way with three goals as the Golden Knights outscored the Scots 7-0 to push the halftime lead to 11-0.
Caroline Stevens extended the lead to 12-0 with an unassisted tally at the 13:26 mark.
Angelina Anderson got the Scots on the board with a goal with 5:15 to play in the third. Stevens scored with 1:15 left in the third to make it 13-1 after three.
Gannon scored the first three goals of the fourth to go up 16-1 with 5:42 to play. Anderson set the final with 4:12 remaining on an unassisted tally.
Anderson recorded two goals on eight shots.
Rylee Jones and
Jacqui Detelich each added four shots.
Addy Ours took the loss making 13 saves in 45 minutes of work.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they host IUP at 1 p.m.
