Greensburg, Pa. – The Edinboro softball team fell in a pair of PSAC West contests to host Seton Hill Friday afternoon.
The Scots fell 3-2 on a walk off in the opener and then dropped a 10-0 decision in the nightcap.
Game One
The Scots got out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when
Isabelle Bavaro hit a sacrifice fly plating
Hilary Sissem.
Edinboro extended the lead in the top of the third on an RBI single by
Emalie Thomas.
Scot starter Gianna Ficcaglia held the Griffins without a hit through 5.1 innings before Lacey Lynn hit a pinch-hit home run to cut the lead to 2-1.
Bre Athey tied the game in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single. A misplay in the outfield allowed the game-winning run to score for the Griffins.
Cassidy Weller and
Isabella Becker each notched a pair of hits to lead the Edinboro offense. Ficcaglia took the loss in the circle allowing three runs, two earned, in 6.2 innings of work allowing just four hits while striking out six.
Game Two
Seton Hill grabbed the early lead in game two scoring a pair of unearned runs to go ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the first.
Brooklyn Fukushima singled home Grace Paredes in the bottom of the third to push the lead to 3-0. The Griffin bats exploded in the fourth scoring seven runs and setting the final at 10-0.
The Scots return to action on Saturday when they host Slippery Rock at 2 p.m. at the Edinboro softball team on Senior Day.
