EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team returns to action on Friday and Saturday for a pair of PSAC West contests.
The Games
The Scots host IUP at 6 p.m. on Friday. Edinboro takes on Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday at 5 p.m. Both games will be
broadcast on the PSAC Digital Network and Edinboro Athletics will provide
live stats.
Last Time Out
The Scots are coming off a 3-1 loss to Clarion on Saturday.
D'Aira Whitner led the offense with 12 kills and
Reilly Parent added nine.
Grace Petro triggered the offense with 23 assists.
Josephine Bailey notched five blocks and
Christina Lockett added four blocks.
Faith Schneider tallied 24 digs.
Block Party
The Scots are one of the top blocking teams in the PSAC. They rank second in the conference and 39
th in the nation in total blocks at 137.5. They rank fourth in the league in 56
th in the nation at 2.05 blocks for set. Lockett leads the team and ranks second in the PSAC with 1.08 blocks per set.
Statistical Leaders
The Scot offense is paced by
Makayla Neelands and her 180 kills. Parent has tallied 157 kills. Whitner and
Taylor Pucky have also crossed the century mark with 143 and 129 respectively. Petro leads Edinboro in assists with 357. Scheider leads the defense with 302 digs.
IUP
The Crimson Hawks enter play at 12-4 overall and 4-1 in PSAC West play after falling 3-2 to Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday. Jessica Neiman led the team with 15 kills. Maddie Zechman tallied 18 helpers and Delaney Concannon finished with 12 digs.
Pitt-Johnstown
UPJ is coming off a 3-2 victory over IUP to move to 9-5 overall and 3-2 in PSAC West play. Kiara Haron led the Mountain Cats with 12 kills. Arielis Valle Villegas triggered the offense with 23 assists. Caroline Knight tallied five blocks and Avery Koontz finished with 22 digs.
