Charleston, W.Va. – The Edinboro softball team dropped a pair of games on Friday in the Scots first action of the season.
Edinboro dropped the opener to host Charleston 9-0 in six innings before falling 1-0 to Concord in the second game of the day.
In the first game, Charleston used four hits including a pair of doubles to get out to a 3-0 in the first inning. The teams played scoreless through the next four innings, but the Golden Eagle bats came alive scoring six runs keyed by home runs from Taylor Hodson and Emma Smith to score the 9-0 win.

Emalie Thomas all picked up hits for the Scots.
Giana Ficcaglia took the loss in the circle pitching five innings allowing six runs with five strikeouts.
In the second game, Concord scored a single run in the first inning and made it stand up for the rest of the game. Lily Bromstead led the Edinboro offense with a pair of hits.
Kelsey Warren tossed a complete game allowing one run on six hits while striking out seven and walking one.
The Scots return to action with a 10 a.m. contest with Charleston.
