Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team dropped a 15-5 decision to host Gannon Wednesday afternoon in PSAC West action.
 
The Golden Knights struck first on an Isabella Veltre goal at the 10:10 mark of the first. Olivia Kaminisky tied the game with 8:53 on the clock. Angelina Anderson put the Scots up 2-1 with an unassisted tally at the 7:42 mark.
 
Gannon responded with five straight goals to end the first and take a 6-2 lead into the second quarter. The second was a defensive battle with Rayla Smith scoring the only goal sending Gannon into the half up 7-2.
 
Megan Long pushed the lead to 8-2 with a goal 1:04 into the second half. Jacqui Detelich stopped the Golden Knight scoring run with a goal at 13:14 of the third quarter. Smith and Detelich traded goals again making the score 9-4 Golden Knights at the 9:55 mark.
 
Gannon closed the third on a 3-0 run to push the advantage to 12-4 heading to the final frame. Detelich scored 35 seconds into the fourth, but the Golden Knights tacked on three insurance tallies to set the final.
 
Detelich led the Scot offense with four points on three goals and one assist. Addy Ours took the loss between the pipes allowing 15 goals while making 11 saves.
 
The Scots return to action on Saturday when they travel to IUP for a noon start against the Crimson Hawks.
