Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team fell 17-10 to visiting Lock Haven Saturday afternoon in PSAC West action inside Sox Harrison Stadium.
Lock Haven got out to a fast start scoring the first four goals of the game capped by a Gabby Gunnip free-position goal with 11:12 to go in the first.
Rylee Jones put the Scots on the board with an unassisted goal at the 10:26 mark. Lock Haven scored the next three goals to extend then advantage to 7-1 with 5:35 left in the first.
Angelina Anderson finished a pass from
Jacqui Detelich to cut the lead to 7-2 with 4:58 on the clock. Gunnip and Oliva Kaminsky traded goals to make the score 8-3 early in the second quarter. Lock Haven closed the half on a 4-0 run to take a 12-3 lead into the break.
The Bald Eagles opened the second half with a pair of goals to push the lead to 14-3. Kaminsky scored on both ends of a 4-0 run to cut the lead to 14-7 with 10:05 remaining in the fourth. The teams traded goals to the final at 17-10.
Detelich lead the offense with five points scoring two goals and three assists. Jones added three goals and a helper for four points. Kaminsky added three goals.
Addy Ours took the loss in net making 17 saves.
The Scots are back in action on Monday when they travel to Ursuline for non-conference action. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
